The flip side of Anthony Weiner’s pathetic behaviour
Wednesday, July 31, 2013
The New York Times has an excellent op-ed piece today about the “Peter Tweeter” (sorry about that…but you must admit it’s funny, as is its counterpart “Hooker Booker,” denoting Eliot Spitzer). I don’t know about you, reader, but I’ve never seen much point in calling his preposterous behavior a “woman’s issue.” It’s just plain vulgar, stupid, puerile, and sad. Susan Jacoby says this better in her piece. She recently published a book with the interesting title The Last Men on Top, excerpts of which I glanced through on The Daily Beast (I think). I rather like her observations about men and women, although I find her “freethinking” work much less interesting. Anyway, here’s her op-ed piece on the women who collaborated with Anthony Weiner in his online escapades. I agree with her point of view here, for what that’s worth.
