        An article in today’s New York Times really lays it out: six things you should never say to a person who’s sick and four things you can always say. 22 years in official pastoral ministry and many more years  visiting with cancer patients and people afflicted with other terrible diseases has taught me that Bruce Feiler, the author of the article (who has bone cancer) is right on target.
